Finishing the Season Healthy

Friends, the season is over and playoffs are here. I’m excited to share some of our favorite meals and snacks. They are quick, simple, and healthy, which is a must as the baseball season ends. We are packing, planning trips, chasing a toddler, playing baseball, and trying to be as healthy as possible.

Breakfast is big over here. Greg is always at the field by 2:00, so breakfast is really the only meal I make him during the season. I try to make sure our meals are healthy, high in protein and toddler approved.
As much as we move, I like to have simple easy prep meals as well. Not to forget, if it can be purchased at target, that’s a plus.

One of my favorites is Kodiak Cakes. Available at target, a high protein option, and easy to make. It’s as simple as just adding water. You can make the pancakes as thin or thick to your liking and add whatever toppings you prefer.
Although the high protein ones are a great choice, my favorite is probably the super food cakes with the flax and chia seeds added in.

Another breakfast or snack choice is Elli Quark. EQ is a great high protein, thick and creamy yogurt. Also, available at Target!
Here are a few ways we like our EQ:
Plain, because it’s flavorful, not too sweet and just plain delicious! It’s a great addition to any breakfast.

Overnight oats:
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup Almond Milk
1 container of plain EQ
1 TBS chia seeds
1 TBS Maple Syrup
Add berries, fruit, nuts, or seeds of your choice
Mix it all into a mason jar or covered container and leave it in the fridge overnight. In the morning you will have a great treat!
EQ topped with granola and berries. It’s simple and delicious. Seriously EQ yogurt will make any parfait stand out!

Chips and salsa are a favorite for snacking over here. We are a big fan of Beanfield bean and rice chips. They are great plain, or with salsa. They are the perfect snack, high in fiber and protein!
They are also full of flavor and have a great texture. Their flavors include ranch, Nacho, sea salt, and many more!
Quest nutrition bars are the perfect treat/ protein boost. Low carb, high protein with no added sugar, these bars are perfect for any athlete!
We especially like them for road trips and busy days!

Thanks to Beanfield, Elli Quark, Quest Nutrition and Kodiak Cakes for sponsoring this post! There is no doubt I will be stocking our fridge and pantry with all three of these items when we are back home! They are toddler approved, healthy and so delicious!
