In the next 3-5 days, we will be heading home. We will be driving from Tennessee to Washington, with an 18 month old! It has taken so much preparation! We have about 40 hours of driving mapped out, lots of driving news blog articles bookmarked with some useful tips, and we are nearly ready to make a move!
We’ve decided to take the south route. Here is about what it will look like….
^ Those are all tentative stops and some places we’d like to see along the way. It takes about an additional 10 hours of driving compared to driving straight through. The way I see it, we add an hour a day to make some fun stops along the way! Since we have a toddler in tow, we have no set plans! Road trips are a great way to have fun as a family, but it is extremely important to drive safely. A car accident can ruin your road trip, especially if you were injured and another driver was to blame. To reduce your chances of being involved in a collision, remember to take regular breaks and avoid driving in inclement weather. All this talk of driving has also reminded me that we will need to renew our car insurance policy soon. One of our friends told us just the other day that she managed to save money on her car insurance by comparing different policies on a comparison site like www.mycarinsurancequote.com. It is always important to be on the lookout for new ways to save money, and switching car insurance providers can sometimes work to your advantage.
I will be blogging along the way, so stay tuned to find out where stop along the way! I’ll be sharing everything from awesome hotels, adventures, and road trip survival (like really good snacks).
We appreciate suggestions of cool stops, good restaurants, and of course prayers for a safe and steady drive home!
