Three Steps to the Perfect Baby Shower Gift

Some of the best baby shower gifts I received, weren’t just items from my registry. In all honesty, my registry for my first baby was just filled with random stuff I scanned. The ones that I was most appreciative of were the ones that people spent time on or they made themselves. One of my friends gave me a blanket that they had cross-stitched a design onto – they got the design from Crafty Direct, I think, and it was so well made. Just imagine your friend’s baby being wrapped up in something that YOU made for them… adorable!

I wish I knew about the best and most useful products back then. Since my Sister in Law just had her baby shower, I got to get (what I thought) was the perfect gift for a first time mom. I wanted to make sure that all my gifts were baby-related in some way, however, I knew some people wanted to treat the soon-to-be mother with something nice and shiny like a new necklace. If this is something that you are thinking about doing (as I know plenty of mothers-to-be who would appreciate something like this), then you can find loads of great sites online (and you can even check our shipping charges here). Whatever you get, I’m sure the person will love. I’ve just decided that getting something more baby related will be a bit more helpful. Although I’m sure my sister wouldn’t complain to some new jewelry.

I based my gift on these three categories:

1.) USE

The best baby carrier. Lillebaby can be used from newborn to toddler, and I have done just that. It allows me to get things done around the house, go shopping, and soothe my baby. I’ve gotten years of use out of this carrier and was well worth the splurge.

Towels, swaddles, nursing covers and more from BEBE Au Lait. These are all things that I find myself using and using again.

Co-sleeper, because you’ll have every contraption for that baby to sleep in, but chances are, right next to you is where they want to be. Giving them a safe place to be near you really helps put your mind to ease. Snuggle Me Organic is perfect for this!

2.) Sentimental

A hand stamped necklace from Her Silver Lining.

A special swaddle blanket. Swaddles are used so much, and having an adorable print you love is so fun. Lulujo has such fun and versatile prints, you’ll find something for everyone. My sister in law loves Hedgehogs – so I was so excited to get one in that print for her!!

3.) Nursing Survival

(Breast feeding is one of the hardest things to get used to when becoming a mom. Being prepared can make a world of a difference when nursing!)

One Z Pillow (or Twin Z Pillow for two babes) This pillow makes nursing a little squish so much easier and much more comfortable!

Earth Mama Angel Baby Nipple Butter – All natural cream that helps with drying, or cracking! This is a must for nursing mamas!! Check out their products for baby too, the bottom balm is amazing!

Bravado Designs – a comfortable nursing bra that looks good, and makes nursing easier is so important! I love their tanks and bras!
