Encouraging Successful Transitions and Independence for Preschoolers

This post is brought to you by Joy FamilyTech to share how to encourage successful transitions for preschoolers. All opinions are my own.

Having preschool aged children can come with a variety of challenges. One of the biggest challenges we have with our four year old is transitions. I’m sharing how one product can help encourage successful transitions for preschoolers. The Octopus Watch by JOY FamilyTECH is an icon based watch that can help encourage good habits, successful transisitons and teach time concepts.

Visual Schedule

The Octopus Watch is a visual schedule that you, the parent is able to set for your child each day. This means your child does not need to know how to read to use the watch. Throughout the day the watch will notify your child with what’s next on their schedule.

Time Concepts

Since this is also a watch, they are also able to begin practicing how to tell time. Graydon loves being able to push the button on his watch and check the time.

With the watch as their reminder, parents don’t always have to be the bad guy. This watch can help encourage successful transitions for preschoolers. I love being able to tell Graydon that his schedule says it is time to clean, or get ready for bed. This helps him understand that, although he may not like to do something, it’s still part of his day.

Graydon’s watch reminds him of what he is supposed to be doing. This gives him the independence to know what he is supposed to be doing. Preschoolers love to be independent, and this gives them the opportunity to be more independent.

With the Octopus Watch app, it’s so easy to set their daily schedule. There are over 700 icons to choose from to set their schedule as well. Even if you have a very loose schedule, you can fill the schedule with free time. Some days we have structured mornings getting ready for the day, and afternoons getting ready for bed, while the rest of the day is just free time.

There are so many great benefits of having a visual schedule for toddlers and preschoolers schoolers. I love that this watch gives me the ease to setup and change his schedule everyday. It’s also really neat that Graydon gets to wear a smart watch too, it makes him feel a little more grown up.

The Octopus Watch has no radio frequencies, it wirelessly connects for just a few seconds while updating. There is also a place to give In Case of Emergency information on the watch. It’s easy to charge, lightweight and comfortable for the kids to wear. My son, who doesn’t even like tags on his clothes will wear the watch without any issues!

What great idea to have a watch that gives visual schedules. That way you don’t have to remind them to look at a chart or anything. Technology can be amazing.
