Offseason Camping at the KOA

I’ve partnered with KOA to share about Offseason Camping at the KOA.

Offseason Camping at the KOA

Camping during the winter isn’t something I’ve ever really thought about. When my friend Livi of XOLIVI sent me a text letting me know they were heading to the Astoria/Warrenton KOA, I knew it would be the perfect place to meet up!

Livi and her family live a few hours north of us near Seattle, and usually keep up with each other online. Whenever we have the opportunity we love to meet up with each other in person. The KOA was the perfect place for this.

Offseason camping at the KOA is the perfect winter getaway and place to meet up with family or friends. They offer group camping, or you can book Cabins/RV sites that are close together.

KOA Cabins

We stayed in a Deluxe Cabin, just a few sites away from Livi’s RV site! The cabins stay nice and warm since they are heated, which means they are perfect any time of year! Spending time camping did get us thinking about possibly buying our very own RV though – thanks to websites such as, it has never been easier to look at toy haulers online!

The Deluxe Cabin has a kitchen stocked with most necessities, and room to sleep 6-8 people. The linens are even provided, which means less stuff for you to pack! Furthermore, the cabin had two TV’s with cable and WiFi, which is perfect for rainy days! I love these holiday cottage style cabins. Although, I have to admit I would love to try out the holiday cottages in Silverdale after hearing some wonderful reviews.

Things to do in the winter

When the sun comes out, there are plenty of outdoor activities. We enjoyed the jumping pad and playing mini-golf. Graydon even got a hole in one! He was so excited here, I hope that excitement can come home with him on our garage golf set up! I’m sure he’ll love that!

As expected, most of the time the weather was too cold and rainy to spend much time outside. Surprisingly enough, there were more than enough activities inside to keep us busy!

First of all, the cabin was nice and cozy. It was the perfect space to watch a movie, and play some board games.

Around the KOA there were also fun indoor activities. Inside the Big Foot room there was a basketball court set up, plenty of games, a movie on, and other fun activities!

There is also an indoor swimming pool that Graydon enjoyed going to with grandpa!

You can’t forget the pancake breakfast in the morning as well! The kids love waking up and walking to get their pancakes!

Camping with Friends

The KOA is really the best place to have gatherings with friends. You’re able to have your own space, and still be close to your friends! With plenty of activities for the kids, it’s perfect for families with children of all ages.

It was great seeing Livi and her family, all while getting a fun family getaway!
