Reading Fun with Funny Picture Books for Children

Disney Book Group sent me a copy to check out and is partnering with me for a giveaway to share how we make reading fun with funny picture books.

Reading Fun

It’s no secret that Read Aloud time is a priority in our home. One of the reasons my children have grown to love this time, is the fact that we make reading fun!

We read chapter books, picture books, fiction, history, science. We make up our own stories and read poetry. Throughout the countless hours of reading with my children, my very favorite moments are the moments when there is laughter.

Can you really go wrong with a book that makes everyone laugh?

Over the years, I have always been able to count on Mo Willems to keep everyone laughing.

Funny Picture Books for Children

Whether it be the Elephant and Piggy books or lately, the Unlimited Squirrels series, Mo Willems keeps us all laughing.

“An ensemble cast of Squirrels, Acorns, and pop-in guests host a page-turning extravaganza. Each book features a funny, furry adventure AND bonus jokes, quirky quizzes, nutty facts, and so, so many Squirrels.”

Book 2 in the Unlimited Squirrels series by Mo Willems quickly became a favorite. I love that it is not only funny, but contains nonfiction content. Moreover, it’s not only engaging, but addresses physical emotional and social development markers!

After reading this story, the boys have been making jokes of their own and talking about the funny squirrels and the “a-corny joke acorns”.

One (1) winner receives a copy of Unlimited Squirrels: Who is the Mystery Reader? plus kids sunglasses and a secret message writing set.
